Aug-24/2012 05:08:27		 Test Drive New USB3.0 2 Bays Docker  

Pros:　
Tests was conducted on an Asus I7 notebook that has only 1 USB3.0 port and using the latest HDTUNE PRO ver 5.

THE NEW USB3.0 DOCKING STATION
One 2TB HDD each were inserted into BAY1 and BAY2
The following are the tests results |
1. Very fast detection of both Harddisks in Windows 7.
2. Both harddisks clocked 120+ mb/s on HDTUNE (normal USB3.0 standards)
3. Both harddisks completed the benchmark tests from beginning to end without stoppage
4. Transfer of data between notebook harddisk and Docker harddisks showed a sustainable high transfer rate of 70 m/bs
5. Transfer of data between harddisk in BAY1 to BAY2 and vice versa also showed a sustainable transfer rate of 70 m/bs
6. Offline standalone cloning between Original HDD in BAY1 to Target HDD in Bay2 was successful with a respectable time of 3 hrs to clone a 1 TB harddisk.

Conclusion : The docker was found to work perfectly and had no problem conforming to USB3.0 standards. Offline cloning works fine. Unit seems well built and robust. Recommended.

Other Thoughts or Suggestions:
As an owner of a notebook with a 1 and only USB3.0 PORT, the addition of this USB3.0 Docker with dual bay is like converting the single USB3.0 port to 2 ports by virtue of the 2 bays in the docker.

Pros:　
I've used this for a few weeks now. I bought two. Instead of 6 hard disk casing i now have 2 docks and i swap disks. Very easy to use and works on OSX.

None

Have not used the instant copy or backup soft.
